# Connect Bytown to Grok and Grok Bot

> Add one custom connector, sign in to Bytown once, and give Grok Bot its first routine. Setup takes about a minute.

### Connect your ad accounts in Bytown
Grok sees exactly the accounts you connect in Bytown, and nothing else. See [Connect your ad accounts](/docs/connect-ad-accounts).

### Add Bytown in Grok Bot or Grok
In **Grok Bot**, open **Settings → Plugins** and add a custom MCP server named **Bytown** with the connector URL. No headers are needed, because sign-in uses OAuth.

Using **Grok chat** instead? Go to [grok.com/connectors](https://grok.com/connectors), choose **New Connector**, then **Custom**, and paste the same URL.

### Sign in and pick your business
Grok opens Bytown's sign-in page. Choose the business the bot should work on and allow access.

### Give the bot its first routine
Write the job the way you'd brief a new hire. Name the plugin with **@Bytown** so the bot reaches for the right tools.

## Switch business or disconnect

In the Bytown business Grok works on, open **Connections → AI assistants → Other MCP assistants** and choose **Disconnect** next to Grok. It may be listed under the name it registered with. The bot loses access at once and your ad accounts stay untouched. Connect again to pick a different business.

## Common questions

### Can Grok Bot change my budgets on a schedule?

It can stage changes on a schedule, and Bytown tells the bot to get your yes before it confirms. Keep "never change a budget without asking me" in the routine, and confirm fixes in Grok when they arrive. A change nobody confirms within 15 minutes expires with nothing changed.

### Do I need a paid Grok plan?

Grok Bot comes with paid Cursor and SuperGrok plans, and Grok Business admins control connectors for their team. Bytown itself works on Pro and Max with no connector fee. Check your Grok plan first, then add the Bytown URL as a custom connector or plugin.
