# Connect Cursor, Antigravity, Gemini CLI and other assistants > Any assistant that can add a remote MCP server with browser sign-in can use Bytown. Here's the setup for Cursor, Google Antigravity and the Gemini CLI, and what to look for in other apps. Source: https://bytown.co/docs/other-mcp-clients · Updated October 11, 2026 Every app below uses the same connector URL and the same Bytown sign-in. ```text Connector URL https://ads.bytown.co/mcp ``` ## Cursor These steps are for the Cursor desktop app. For Cursor's web and cloud agents, see [the next section](#cursor-web). Each keeps its own list of MCP servers, so add Bytown to each one you use. Cursor's menus move between releases, so the steps start from its settings file. ### Add Bytown to Cursor Open `~/.cursor/mcp.json` in your home folder, or create it, and add Bytown. If the file already lists other servers, add the `bytown` entry next to them. ```json ~/.cursor/mcp.json { "mcpServers": { "bytown": { "url": "https://ads.bytown.co/mcp" } } } ``` ### Sign in to Bytown Save the file. Bytown appears in Cursor's list of MCP servers and asks you to sign in. Choose it, and your browser opens Bytown's sign-in page. ### Choose a business and allow access Sign in with your Bytown account, pick the business Cursor should work on and choose **Allow access**. Then go back to Cursor, where Bytown shows as connected in its list of MCP servers. ### Ask your first question In Cursor's chat, ask "List my ad accounts". Any change Cursor proposes is staged, and it asks you to confirm in the chat before Bytown applies it. ## Cursor web and cloud agents Cursor's cloud agents, which used to be called background agents, run from [cursor.com/agents](https://cursor.com/agents). ### Add Bytown as an MCP server Open [cursor.com/agents](https://cursor.com/agents), open the **MCP** menu and add a custom server. Name it `bytown` and paste the connector URL. If Cursor asks for the type, choose HTTP. ### Sign in to Bytown Choose to sign in or connect next to Bytown. Your browser opens Bytown's sign-in page. Sign in, pick the business the agents should work on and choose **Allow access**. ### Ask your first question Start an agent and ask "List my ad accounts". Any change it proposes is staged, and it asks you to confirm in the chat before Bytown applies it. Sign-in is per person. If a Cursor team admin shares Bytown with the whole team, each person still signs in with their own Bytown account. ## Google Antigravity ### Open Antigravity's MCP settings In Antigravity's agent panel, open the **⋯** menu at the top and choose **MCP Servers**. Then choose **Manage MCP Servers** and **View raw config**. ### Add Bytown Add Bytown to the file that opens. If it already lists other servers, add the `bytown` entry next to them. Antigravity needs the key `serverUrl`, not `url` as in Cursor. ```json mcp_config.json { "mcpServers": { "bytown": { "serverUrl": "https://ads.bytown.co/mcp" } } } ``` ### Sign in to Bytown Save the file, go back to **Manage MCP Servers** and choose **Refresh**. Then choose **Authenticate** next to Bytown. Your browser opens Bytown's sign-in page. Sign in, pick the business Antigravity should work on and choose **Allow access**. If Antigravity then asks for a code, copy it from the browser page, paste it into Antigravity and choose **Submit**. ### Ask your first question In the agent chat, ask "List my ad accounts". Any change the agent proposes is staged, and it asks you to confirm in the chat before Bytown applies it. ## Gemini CLI Run one command to add Bytown. ```bash Terminal gemini mcp add --transport http bytown https://ads.bytown.co/mcp ``` Then start the Gemini CLI and sign in to Bytown: ```text Inside the Gemini CLI /mcp auth bytown ``` ## Any other assistant Look for a setting called custom connector, MCP server or plugin. Bytown needs 3 things from it: - a **remote server URL**: `https://ads.bytown.co/mcp` - **OAuth sign-in in your browser**, so you sign in on Bytown's own page. No API key or header is needed. - a way for you to **confirm** an action before it runs Note: Some apps finish sign-in through their own app link instead of your browser, and most of those can't connect to Bytown yet. The Cursor desktop app can. The consumer Gemini app doesn't support custom connectors yet. ## Common questions ### My assistant asks for an API key. What do I enter? Nothing. Bytown doesn't use API keys for assistants. Leave the key and header fields empty and choose OAuth if there's an option. The assistant then opens Bytown's sign-in page, you choose a business and allow access, and the connection works without a key to manage or rotate.
