# Security and privacy > Secure your Bytown login, keep an eye on where you're signed in, and know exactly what Bytown and any connected assistant can see. Source: https://bytown.co/docs/security-and-privacy · Updated October 13, 2026 ## Secure your login Open **Settings → Security**. You'll confirm your password before you can change anything there. Signed up with Google? You don't have a Bytown password yet. Choose **Forgot password** on the sign-in page to set one first. - **Update password**: use a long, random password you don't use anywhere else. - **Two-factor authentication**: add a code from an authenticator app at sign-in. - **Passkeys**: sign in with your device's fingerprint, face or screen lock instead of a password. ## See where you're signed in Open **Settings → Profile**. It shows your last sign-in. Choose to sign out from all other devices and browsers if you see anything you don't recognize. When someone signs in to your account from a new device, Bytown emails you the time, the device and its IP address, with a link to reset your password. ## Your ad accounts stay yours Bytown connects to your ad accounts with the access you grant at sign-in. Your accounts, campaigns, history and billing stay with you. Disconnect any platform under **Connections**, and nothing in the account itself changes. ## AI assistants - An assistant works on one business, with your own Bytown permissions. - It never receives your Bytown password or your ad platform logins. - Every change it proposes waits for your confirmation in the conversation. - Disconnect it any time under **Connections → AI assistants**, and its access ends at once. Bytown keeps a record of every change staged or confirmed. It does not sell connector data or use it to train AI models. Read the detail in our [privacy policy](/privacy#ai-assistants). ## Delete your account Before you delete your account, cancel the plan for each business you own under **Settings → Billing**. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a plan. Then open **Settings → Profile** and choose **Delete account**. This permanently deletes your account and its data, and it can't be undone. Your ad accounts on Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Microsoft and ChatGPT Ads are not deleted. You can also follow our [data deletion instructions](/privacy/data-deletion). ## Report a security issue Email [hello@bytown.co](mailto:hello@bytown.co) with what you found and how to reproduce it.
