Every "ad examples" page on the internet shows you screenshots. Almost none of them can tell you what the clicks cost, and none can tell you which ads actually worked — so this library is built around the two signals that do exist.
Run time: every ad here was pulled live from the Meta Ad Library and sorted by how long its owner has kept paying for it, which is the only performance signal public ad archives expose. And cost: we run ad accounts in most of these industries, and we publish what clicks and conversions cost, with sample sizes printed.
Every example links back to its source ad so you can verify it, every page maps its formats to funnel stages, and every format comes with a copy-paste AI prompt — plus a free downloadable template library you can drop into Canva or Figma.
The library of ad examples
84 real ads at launch — ten industries, plus LinkedIn thought leader ads sourced from LinkedIn's own Ad Library. The longest has been running since 2019.
Start with your industry — then steal shamelessly from two others.
More industries are on the way — B2B fintech, architecture, engineering, events, and healthcare are next, drawn from the same benchmark accounts.
How this library is built
Source
Meta's public Ad Library — the archive of every ad running on Facebook and Instagram. We pull active ads per industry, sort by run time, and curate for format variety. The LinkedIn page is built the same way from LinkedIn's Ad Library.
The longevity signal
Meta publishes no reach, spend or results for commercial ads — only when each ad started and whether it still runs. No business funds a losing ad for hundreds of days.
Ads running 90+ days are proven; the multi-year runners are institutions.
Verifiability
Every card credits the advertiser and links to the live ad in the Ad Library. If a run time matters to you, click through and check it.
Cost context
Each industry page cites what clicks and conversions cost in that industry, from accounts we manage, published with sample sizes in our benchmarks.
Examples tell you what to make; costs tell you what it takes.
Recreation
Each format has an AI prompt with placeholders, and the template library has downloadable starting points.
The rule everywhere: steal the structure, never the creative.
How to use ad examples without copying anyone
-
Identify the job before the format
Awareness ads buy recall, consideration ads buy trust, conversion ads buy action. Every page here is grouped that way.
-
Rebuild the structure with your own claims
The layout logic is transferable; the creative belongs to its owner.
-
Check your own market
Search the Ad Library for your competitors and note what has run 90+ days. That is your real competitive set, whatever these pages say.
-
Test in threes and judge by CPA
Run batches of three minimum, keep winners running for months, and judge ads by CPA, not by how tired you are of looking at them.
FAQ
Where do these ad examples come from?
Every ad is pulled from Meta's public Ad Library — the searchable archive of ads running on Facebook and Instagram — filtered to actively running ads, and sorted by how long each has run. Each example credits the advertiser and links to the original ad so it can be verified at the source.
How do you know these ads actually work?
Public archives publish no performance data, so we use the honest proxy: longevity. Advertisers see their own results daily and turn losing ads off; an ad that has run for hundreds of days is one its owner keeps choosing to fund. Where we have real cost data — from the ad accounts we manage — we publish it with sample sizes in our benchmarks.
Is it legal to look at competitors' ads like this?
Yes. Ad libraries exist for exactly this: Meta publishes every running ad for transparency, and Google operates a similar Ads Transparency Center. Copying an ad's creative — its photos, video or copy — is a different matter, which is why every page here teaches the structure and prompts you to rebuild it with your own material.
Can I download these templates?
Yes — the AI ad template library at bytown.co/ad-examples/ai-ad-templates has every format as a copy-paste AI prompt plus PNG and SVG files you can import into Canva or Figma, free, no email required.
